“We are not talking any more about standalone projects.”
That’s Christos Tsekis of Sungrow on what big CPOs now ask for: PV, storage and chargers, designed together from day one.

The reason is the grid.
In mature markets like Germany and the Nordics, a new connection can take a long time. With a battery on site, the next project no longer waits on the next DSO approval.

He closes with one piece of advice for every CPO planning its next wave of high-power sites.

The clear signal here is that the big CPOs, for example, E.ON Drive Infrastructure, are not only looking like, okay, let's buy a couple of chargers today or maybe a couple of, let's say, BESS, but it's a combined solution. So they see the necessity of, first of all, being more independent, not slowing down the whole projects across Europe because of grid operators, and having a reliable product that, once they need higher power or peak shaving, or actually tackle issues like arbitrage, et cetera, then they can rely on a BESS solution that is also scalable. As I mentioned before, we can also have in parallel more than, let's say, 20, in fact 25 PowerStacks in this case. So this is a very scalable solution, from one point. You can deploy it everywhere. And it gives a clear signal in the market that we are not talking anymore about standalone projects, namely BESS or EV charging, but a combined solution, as a whole ecosystem.
